Has anyone else experienced issues with IPV6 on the TRB500 with firmware version “TRB500_R_00.07.16.3”. The TRB500 isn’t getting an IPV6 address from the carrier in any of the configuration modes for IPV6, it’s only receiving an IPV4 address. I can confirm that the carrier (Vodafone Australia) is IPV6 capable as I’m using the exact same plan for my mobile, and I’ve tested it for IPV6 capability. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue or tell me if you’ve experienced issues with IPV6.
Initially, to better understand the issue you’re experiencing, could you let me know which APN the modem is using with Vodafone AU? Is APN selection set to AutoAPN, or have you configured a custom APN manually? If not yet tried, please set a custom APN to live.vodafone.com and check whether this makes any change.
Additionally, please check and confirm that the PDP type on the interface mob1s1a1 settings is set to IPv4/IPv6.
Could you let me know what happens when you set the PDP type to IPv6 only? Does the modem obtain an IPv6 address from your ISP in that case? Can you also confirm whether your operator actually includes IPv6 allocation in your plan?
Just to be sure, is this the identical issue as the one described by the post author with Vodafone Australia? For testing purposes, have you tried selecting the APN or operator manually instead of leaving it on auto?
If nothing changes and the issue still persists, we’ll need to continue troubleshooting privately.
It looks like the issue lies with Vodaphone, some SIMs appear to have IPV6/IPV4 and others don’t. I think Vodaphone is doing a phased rollout for IPV6 capability as part of infrastructure upgrades, but full IPV6 capability isn’t deployed carrier wide. Both my phone and router are on the exact same plan.
I think @Baseline (OP) has answered the IPv6 question below.
However, I still don’t know where in the modem WebUI to enter the APN details? There is an option to manually enter an APN address (eg. live . vodafone . com) but not the PORT or PROXY.
I think Telstra has full IPV6 capability within their network, I bought the my Vodaphone SIMs from the exact same vendor at the exact time; one of them supports IPV6 and the other does not.
