I use this in gateway in Elisa network in Finland and 5G 700MHz keeps dropping consistently. 4G mode has no issues. I got device firmware TRB500_R_00.07.08.2 and modem firmware RG501QEUAAR12A08M4G_04.200.00.000. This seems to have been issue quite a while around here based on what I’ve heard from other users of this device… Is there any newer modem or device firmware that could potentially solve this issue?
Also bit off topic but is there any way to force LTE anchor band on the device? Via commandline?
Can you share signal strength? It should be under Status → Network → Mobile. You can directly upgrade the modem firmware from WebUI → System → Firmware → Firmware type: Modem. Make sure to have a stable internet connection (preferably wired) to avoid any issues.
It is possible to set LTE bands manually through CLI but you also need to set 5G and 3G bands because ‘preferred network type’ is 5G/4G/3G.
Its not signal issue. I’m specifically looking for a way to just lock uploading to a specific frequency band and let download bands be assigned automatically. Is there any way to do this via commandline? I’m well aware this cannot be done via web UI. Locking to a specific frequency band is not the same thing as locking an achor/primary (upload) band to specific band.
Right now the issue is the gateway often connects to wrong anchor/primary band which leads to worse upload speeds. I do want all the available bands for downloading, but I want to lock to just specific band for upload. If I lock to just B20 band I get better upload but terrible download vs letting the gateway just handle the bands automatically.
