When I click update the download is kind of skipped, then “Verify image…” appears and nothing happens.
It may be that previously I have downloaded a firmware and did not proceed with it and later updated via File method instead. Maybe the downloaded file (when I was doing it via web interface and cancelled) resides somewhere in cache in the file system - that is why something blocks new firmware from being properly downloaded in Server mode.
It was fixed with 7.8.2
For now, upload FW manually.

No, there was a bug in that firmware that you uploaded via File and in the one before that, which means you cannot update from Server now. You need to update once more using File.
