TRB141 mqtt Modbus gateway help with AWS

I cannot find any help on how to configure the mqtt modbus gateway with AWS iot Core. I have followed the instructions on this forum that explain how to configure the ‘data to server’ page with AWS, however those instructions don’t seem to work for the ‘mqtt modbus gateway’ page. I want to be able to send modbus requests via mqtt to the trb141 mqtt modbus gateway.

please note, that using the same certificate files and settings I am able to connect to AWS using node-red, so it doesn’t look like AWS is the cause of the issue.

one other thing to mention; I’m using wireguard vpn on the device - however it wasn’t a problem connecting to other, self hosted mqtt brokers.
