I have installed a TRB140 on a closed net. The only access is through a VPN or TRB140.
But I have no DNS resolution, so am unable to connect to RMS.
I am wondering if my LAN setup is correct.
I set up a standard GW in LAN settings, and thus might have prevented DNS resolution over WAN.
Is my solution to remove the GW in LAN settings.?
I am a bit hesitant to do it, if I should lose connection.
It is a 500 km drive

How is the device able to reach the internet? Is it through a VPN tunnel?
You can navigate to Network → Intefaces → Edit LAN → Advanced settings and add DNS servers there. These DNS will be available for DNS resolution on all interfaces. You can also take a look at this post here.

The LAN is on a closed management net, with no internet access.

Besides DNS, if you want to use RMS, you need to make sure that the RMS is reachable from your closed network. Please, take a look at this page here where you can find the IP addresses and port numbers that you need to open.
