Time synchronisation

Hi, we are having some issues with NTP synchronization in a RUTX10. Could someone assist with more in-depth explanation of the force servers and save time to flash settings in the Time synchronisation fields. I would also like to know how long it takes the RUTX10 to synchronise it’s time with NTP server on startup.

Thanks Tyson

Hi Tyson,

“Force servers” - you dont want to sync to servers marked as unreliable, therefore no
“Save time to flash” - you dno’t want to write to flash all the time as ist will die sooner or
later. Also the clock doesn’t run when powered down anyway, therefore also no.

Which ntp servers do you use? Use pool.ntp.org or maybe a country specific server pool
like uk.pool.ntp.org, de.pool.ntp.org, or lt.pool.ntp.org

Hi,
We have our own NTP servers for the RUT to sync with and the devices which are are connecting to the RUT use the internal RUT address as the NTP clock. The RUT does find it’s time however the cameras which connect to the RUT are not syncing consistently. Both the RUT and Cameras power down daily as they are being used in a CCTV vehicle.

Hi Tyson,

Welcome Teltonika Networks Community!

Make sure to enable NTP server in RUTX10 and add your specific Time Servers under NTP. Kindly check your camera settings as well if further configuration is needed.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi @Tyson,
are you sure your RUT is synced with your ntp server?
Try
ntpclient -h [your_server] -d
on the RUT command line.
