Hello guys, so i was able to follow the guide in youtube. I was able to create VPN hub and route the IP address, when I scan the RUT241 lan, the PLC IP showed up. after that I downloaded the certificate and upload it to OpenVPN Connect software.
it connected successfully. I was able to ping the router lan IP, but I cannot ping the plc IP? what could be the problem. Please help, I bought 2 pcs of RUT241 to play around.
wow it seems no moderator here in forum.
but I tried several ways here is what I found out.
so first after creating VPN Hubs. I exported the certificate and upload it into OpenVPN Connect app. However, I cannot ping the PLC IP.
so what I did, I install OpenVPN Connect app and Teltonika RMS VPN App inside my VMWare that is running windows 10, and my PC is running windows 11.
inside the VMware, after I connect rms VPN Hub using the RMS VPN App, I was able to ping successfully the PLC IP. However, the next problem is, TIA Portal cannot search the PLC, I already adjusted the PG/PC, it cannot see the PLC IP, but I can already ping it.
weird lot of bugs, we have a meeting with principal this week. I will raise this issue. we bought 2 pcs of RUT241, I hope we can get the support we need to setup this.
TIA portal ‘search’ is using DCP, a non-routable link layer protocol for search (and more). That could explain why you can ping but not ‘find’ the plc. You need a bridging, layer 2 vpn for that.
But you should be able to download, upload and monitor the plc.
Hey guys, closing this thread. I already found my solution, I am able to work and communicate it now, plc to scada, online, download and upload plc. Thank you! great technology btw.
