Temperature sensor

Hello

What’s a good way to have multiple temperature sensors connected to my RUT955 router so I can check the fridge temperature and internal temperature of my van from anywhere.
Obviously it’s 12v.

Hello,

The most appropriate way for connecting multiple temperature sensors would be using devices that support Bluetooth. However, as the RUT955 does not support Bluetooth 4.0 LE, using Bluetooth-enabled sensors would not be a suitable approach for your requirements. Instead, you’ll need to use temperature sensors compatible with one of the protocols supported by the RUT955, such as Modbus TCP/RTU or MQTT.

In your case, the sensors can be connected either:

  • To the I/O analog input pins of the RUT955, if the sensor outputs an analog signal that matches the voltage range supported by the router.
  • To the RS485 interface, if the sensor uses Modbus RTU or a similar protocol.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide specific recommendations for third-party temperature sensors. However, perhaps someone else in the forum community has experience with a similar setup and can share their recommendations.

Best regards,
