Simplifying Teltonika RUT241 VPN Setup – Avoiding Manual Route Configuration

Hi everyone,

We’re using Teltonika RUT241 routers with VPN connections to link different machines (like PLCs and HMIs) to our network. Right now, it works, but there’s an issue. For each PC connecting through the Teltonika VPN, we have to manually add routes to access the machines, and we also need to ping the network via the Teltonika first to establish the connection. This isn’t ideal for our setup.

What we’re looking for is:

  • PCs connected through the Teltonika VPN should automatically be part of the network.
  • No need to manually add routes or ping the network beforehand.

I believe this might involve some kind of Layer 2 access or bridging configuration, but I’m not sure how to set it up on the RUT241. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any tips or guidance on how to simplify this would be great!
