I have a telemetry device that uses PPP over serial to connect. I have a TRB255 and I can set it up for Full Control which allows me to control the modem and access the internet via RS232. What I would like to do is configure the pppd setup for it to land in the LAN zone, allowing me to still use the ethernet port and other functions of the modem. I can manually start pppd with the required settings but I haven’t been able to get it to end up in the LAN zone.
This feature is not available on Teltonika Networks devices. When using AT commands to establish a PPP connection between the modem and a serial device, the modem becomes dedicated to that device, meaning LAN devices will no longer be able to use the modem for internet connectivity.
If your telemetry device can send data over serial without requiring PPP and AT commands, you could use the Serial Over IP feature to transmit the data instead.
