RUTX50000000 for FortiGate firewall wan2 backup

We are looking for FortiGate firewall second WAN network backup(WAN2) product, for about 40-50 LAN devices(PC/Laptop/Mobile/…), WAN1 is first priority and when WAN1 broke then FortiGate auto switch to WAN2, RUTX50000000 looks like good for us, but wonder its efficacy good for 40-50 devices? and dual SIM are both Active or just Active/Backup?

40-50 device might be too much for device depending on what kind of traffic those devices generate. You cant have both SIM cards active because RUTX50 is single modem device. It has two SIM slots for failover / easy switching and cant use them both at the same time. Also, friendly advice, i would look at replacing that Fortigate firewall because they are extremely insecure devices that can be easily compromised.

Hi heartless,
So maybe could use two RUTX50 as Firewall WAN2/WAN3 backup and config firewall SD-WAN feature?!
40-50 devices traffic mostly are … web searching/youtube/email/ipphone.

Its still a lot of traffic simply because there is not enough bandwidth on LAN ports. Dont even bother with wireless. Its not going to work. For 50 clients you need to set up very tight bandwidth limiters per client/port because you are going to create traffic jam and make network unusable for everyone. If you get two RUTX50 devices, that can make situation little better, but then you need to spread the clients equally across two devices which is not really good solution unless you already have two 48 port switches. To do this properly, you need far more capable equipment with SFP ports. You can do it with RUTX50, but compromises and quality of operation are going to be severely degraded. Its all up to you.
