A brand new device bought yesterday,
Continues failover transfers between 2 SIM cards already installed.
With android phone at the same place where the RUTX50 placed (Outdoor area test) the speed test gave us the speed of 600Mps the RUTX50 only 170Mbps max
All the latest updates F/W plus Modem update done.
Continued failover jumps between SIM1/SIM2 every few mins.
ISP COSMOTE Package Unlimited 5G connection.
Updated info bellow:
Almost everytime running speedtest the connection drops.
Tested with other ISP same issue.
Any Idea?
Thanks for your time.
Hello,
From the screenshot you provided, it appears that your device has a very poor mobile signal, which is most likely the cause of the disconnections. You can find mobile signal strength recommendations here: Mobile Signal Strength Recommendations - Teltonika Networks Wiki
Please confirm whether the original mobile antennas are properly connected to the device at a 90-degree angle. If they are and the issue persists, I recommend moving the device closer to a mobile tower or testing it in a different location to see if signal quality improves.
If better signal strength resolves the issue, you may want to consider using higher-gain antennas for a more permanent solution. However, if mobile disconnections continue even with good signal, let me know and we will proceed with further troubleshooting.
Best regards,
Good evening Marija, thank you for your reply,
I agree about the streght of the signal and I was already playing with build in antenna azimuths.
The device was bought for mobile use in a yacht,
we were using in the past the 4G version of your products but we had the shame issues.
Finally we had to buy another product from alternative manufacture 3 years ago and it was fine so far,
we have two semi omni outdoor antennas installed at the same place 5 years now without issues, (already antennas tested with network analyzer about connectivity, possible gain loss and Z too)
I just mention before the compare between the phone and router, it is not right about the signal strengh i mean because with a low cost mobile phone at the same place my signal is really better than the router’s signal without playing around with angles and high.
I can do a few tests more and I’m gonna return with new data.
Have a nice evening
Thank you for the update and for providing additional context.
Regarding the speed differences between your phone and the router, several factors could be contributing to this. Mobile phones typically use modems with different architectures and often belong to higher LTE categories, allowing them to aggregate more frequency bands simultaneously. This can result in better speed performance under similar conditions.
You can find more detailed information in the following article: LTE Speed Discrepancies – Teltonika Networks Wiki
Please also note that when mobile signal strength is weak, we cannot guarantee stable performance or reliably troubleshoot such issues. To accurately assess device performance, we recommend testing in a location with strong mobile signal.
If possible, please test the router using both the original and external antennas. This will help us determine whether the issue is related to signal strength or the device itself.
Let us know the results, and we’ll be glad to assist further.
Best regards,
