RUTX50 Sim card not inserted

A brand new RUTX50 isn’t recognising that a sim card is inserted. I can’t get an LED to acknowledge the SIM card and when logged into the router I simply get “SIM card not inserted”. I have tried both slots and it is the same problem. The SIM is inserted the right way up.

There are a few things to check with issues like this:

  • Check if the SIM card is seated properly in the SIM tray;

  • Try rebooting the router or the modem (Status → Network → Mobile → Reboot modem) with the SIM inserted;

  • Make sure SIM1 is set as the primary in Network → Mobile → General;

  • Make sure the SIM card works in a mobile phone;
