Hi
I’d like to connect a serial device via a serial to usb tongle to the USB port of my RUTX50. On my RUTX50 I then would like to run python code to read data on that serial port. I looked at the documentation (RUTX50 USB Tools - Teltonika Networks Wiki). I can’t find the described “USB to Serial” configuration. If I understand the documentation though, it looks like I won’t be able to open up a port (like tty0). I hope I’m wrong about this. Can anyone help me with this?

A USB to Serial Adapter when plugged in will have a Device name like usb_serial_12345678 where 12345678 is the unique address of the adapter and is the serial device name which can be configured as a serial device in relevant services and packages…
In Services>Serial Utilities there is Modem Control, Console and Over IP options in which Instances can be added of which serial type configuration variables can be edited/saved.
Thx. Looks like my USB to Serial Adapter is broken. My linux workstation doesn’t recognize it either.
Knowing that the device should show up and I can address it directly w/o having to use the USB Tools is great to know. Thank you!
