RUTX50: No failover when Starlink is "sleeping"?

Hi,

to save energy in my RV overnight, I tried to use the feature of Starlink to let it sleep between defined hours. When it does that I don’t have an internet connection, because the mob1s2a1 interface won’t come up, even it is so configured in failover and it shows WAN as down. It seems the router thinks it should still use the WAN connection, even it isn’t available? When I turn Starlink completely off or unplug the cable from WAN port it works immediately. Anyone has an idea?

Kind regards
Hendrik

Hello,

The mob1s2a1 interface specifically refers to SIM2. For failover to work properly, SIM2 must be selected as the default SIM card in Network → Mobile → General SIM2 settings.

Additionally, could you provide a screenshot of your Failover configuration page?

Best regards,

Hi,

sure, SIM2 is the default SIM (Masmovil in Spain) and here is the screenshot.

Hello Hendrik,

Thank you for the screenshot. Could you check and confirm if the Flush connections on option is enabled on the mob1s2a1 and wan interfaces as well?

Looking forward to hearing from you back.

Best regards,

Hi Martynas,

no, that was not enabled on any interface (per default). I enabled it on both Interfaces. I will check later if that works.

Kind regards
Hendrik

That didn’t work. It even got worse that the mob1s2a1 connection wasn’t working anymore even if I unplugged the WAN port.
