I am opening this new issue to follow up on my replies about 14.2 upgrades problems, in my case with an RUTX50. ( this is a follow up from issue 13859 as well )
The router was running 13.4 and after few days ( almost 5) of upgrading to 14.2 the following problems appeared:
( the router has been running fine with 14.2 for few days without any major issues, I have the router doing a reboot every 24 hours, but after 5 days (more or less) the problems started)
Lost the APN parameter after an automatic scheduled reboot
Input the correct APN the router is no more usable due to:
A) Connection to 4G/5G drops every 15min, issuing a Reconnect will bring the connection UP, but after 15min goes down .. and so on
B) Is in general very slow
C) WiFi is very unstable as well, the SSID will not be visible for some time, few minutes, I suspect is due to the 4G/5G drop, the router ( in my case ) does not reboot.
Few tests I have done:
Reset to factory defaults, no change
Gone back to 13.4, works perfectly
I had to take back the router to 13.4 but in order to provide R&D with the info requested I will upgrade again to 14.2 hoping to recreate the problem.
Is what I have done, going from 13.4 to 14.2, no steps in between.
I had to revert back to 13.4 to get the router working again, but I will try once more, and if the problem is still there I will provide Teltonika with the info they need.
From what I can see in the forum there are quite a few people with the same issues.
a) on 13.4 do a factory reset
b) restore a backup configuration
c) upgrade to 14.2 with ‘keep settings’ = on
That the quickest way and Teltonika have told me you CAN upgrade from 13.4 to 14.2 with keep settings = on.
You can of course choose not to do the restore and upgrade with keep settings = off, and then reconfigure manually if you want to be absolutely sure of a ‘clean’ install.
I have followed your instructions, but after the upgrade the router is showing the same problem as 14.2, nothing is changed, frequent disconnections every 10min or so.
Please let me know how I can help you with more info, if you need you are welcome to have a remote session on the router.
In the first instance, if you could go to WEBUI Network → Mobile → Connection, and disable VoLTE.
If you could then login via SSH, and please try to edit the /etc/config/simcard file and add to the SIM1 section in simcard: option disable_ims '1'
You can edit the file using the editor as ‘vi’ (vi /etc/config/simcard). In the vi editor, press “INSERT” to start editing, “ESC” to quit the editing mode, “:wq!” to quit the vi editor and save.
looks like the problem has been solved, so far no disconnections, for what I can see it works fine. In the next few days I will put back the previous settings via the UI.
Will let you know if I see any other issue. I will update you anyway, so you can close the call if is all ok.
For now let me thank you for your very good support.
