I have a new rutx50 and an iPhone 14 Pro. In both devices telekom sim.
The rutx50 has an external panorama antenna connected.
If i start the rutx50 or if i reconnect the connection via webinterface, the connection is set up with 5g.
After 30 to 90 Minutes, the Connection Changes to (a very very slow and Bad) LTE connection.
The iPhone at the Same spot is always in 5g.
How can i change this? The Router is good, but if this is „normal“, it is Not useable for me.
Firmware is up to date.
In germany only 5g NSA available
Could you confirm if the 5G NSA mode is selected in Network → Mobile → Connection settings?
Additionally, for testing purposes, please check in Status → Network page to which “bad” LTE bands the modem connects to when 5G is lost. After checking try the following:
Navigate to Network → Mobile → Connection settings.
Select Band selection – Manual.
For 5G bands – select all available bands.
For LTE bands – select only the different ones to which the modem was connecting when 5G was lost.
For UMTS bands – Select all available options.
Save & apply the changes.
Theoretically, this setup should help the router stay on 5G if the signal is stable and prevent it from switching to poor LTE bands.
