I am based in the UK and have a ‘Three’ SIM and an ‘EE’ SIM. The Three SIM is recognised and works fine, but the EE SIM is not recognised. I have swapped the SIMs around in the slots and carried out reboots / factory reboot. The green light for the slot (whether it’s 1 or 2) containing the EE SIM does not light up after a reboot.

Perhaps you could check if the SIM works properly in a mobile phone? If it does, I’ll ask you to insert the EE SIM into the device, wait around a minute, then navigate to System → Administration → Troubleshoot, press the Show button on System logs and copy the logs from the past few minutes. Make sure to remove any sensitive information and paste the logs in the next comment. This will help me identify what the issue could be.

It seems like the device successfully registered to an operator, could you try navigating Network → Interfaces → General, editing the mob1s1a1 interface (SIM1), disabling the Auto APN option and inserting Custom APN everywhere

Additionally, in the advanced settings of the mobile interface insert Custom DNS 1.1.1.1
and 1.0.0.1

I am using an EE SIM on my RUTX50. Ping me if you want to look at my setup.
It does appear to be all at the defaults though. If I remember correctly, when I first got the router, back in January, I had to manually set the APN.

I have changed the Custom APN and the DNS, but it makes no difference. I actually have a second EE SIM card, which also works in my phone, but still no change to the problem when I fit it in the RUTX50.
I’d recommend factory resetting the device to check if that helps, as it seems like the mobile route is not being inserted for some reason. This can be done by navigating to System → Administration → Backup.

Still no success. It says that a card has been detected but not registered. I then changed APN to everywhere and added the DNS 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1, but still no progress.
I have EE sim in RUTX50 which works fine. It was a new Sim a few months ago. Also on latest firmware.

Just to clarify, RUTX50 only has one modem, so only one SIM can be active at the same time. If you’d like both SIMs to be active, RUTX12 is currently the only device from our lineup which offers this functionality.
In your case, you can configure SIM Switch, which will automatically change between these SIMs in case one of them loses the connection.
