RUTX50 blank pages when trying to log in

Hello,

I’m trying to configure an RUTX50 but I’m having issues to log in.

The first time I tried to connect to it everything worked, then it asked me to change the password but didn’t accept any of them (unexpected error every time). Then something urgent came up and I needed my PC with me so I disconnected from the router and can’t connect since then.

When I put “192.168.1.1/index.html” in the URL it loads for about 5 minutes then stays blank as you can see below :

I tried to reset, then did a factory reset but both didn’t change anything.

I also tried the bootloader mode however this time the connection is refused (even with /index.html):

The RUTX50 works, I have an internet connection when I’m connected to it.

When connected to the router I’m in full DHCP (ip, gateway & DNS).

In the hope you can help me.

Hello!

Could you please try & see if you can access the device via the SSH? A guide can be found here: Command Line Interfaces RutOS - Teltonika Networks Wiki

If you are able to login successfully, could you please try executing the following command:

rm /usr/share/vuci/menu.d/menu.json

Then, reboot the router (reboot) to check if makes any change logging to WebUI.

Additionally, you can try restarting the HTTP server service by running:

/etc/init.d/uhttpd restart

If the issue persists, please check the HTTP server service status with:

/etc/init.d/uhttpd status

Let me know if this improves the situation or if further assistance is needed.

Best regards,
M.

Thank you for your reply, I did manage to access the device via SSH but the commands you provided didn’t improve the situation.

As you can see below the menu.json file has been removed :

The restart of the HTTP server, and it’s status says it is running :

Something strange happened when I restarted the HTTP server.
After a few minutes the login page did load but when I tried to connect using the password provided under the router I got an error “the device is not reachable” or something like that. I refreshed the page and now it’s blank again.
(I was still connected via SSH and could still interact with the device so it definetely was reachable when the error came).

Hello,

For troubleshooting purposes, we will require more sensitive information from your end, such as the troubleshoot file, which may contain passwords, public IP addresses, serial numbers, and such. To avoid leaking this information, we have sent you a form to fill out, which you will receive in your e-mail inbox that you have registered your account with in the forums. In the Ticket ID field of the form, please enter the ID of this thread, which is 15445.

Thank you,
M.

I don’t seem to have received it, can you send the mail again? (Also checked the spams)
I also added a second adress if you can send it to that one as well.

Thank you and sorry for the trouble.

Hello,

I have re-sent it, let me know if you’ve received it this time.

Hello,

I received it and filled the form.

Thank you.

The issue has been partially resolved by accessing the device via Phone & RMS. There seems to be a problem from the PC/Windows end. Adding the uhttpd-ca.crt file to the trusted certificates list did not help, nor did the bootloader reset. In case the user finds what the cause is, they can share their solution here.

Regards,
M.
