Dear helpful.
The RUTX50 “lives” remotely over a 5G network.
After upgrading from version RUTX_R_00.07.06.3 to version RUTX_R_00.07.13.1, access via the IPSEC tunnel to the RUTX50 (and the remote LAN) fails.
The IPSEC tunnel works correctly. Ping to the remote RUTX50 and to any remote IP works very well. But access to other ports, including http and https, does not work. The first connection does get established (like a web login screen) but later packets do not get through. Outgoing Internet access via the RUTX50 LAN works fine, and access to the RUTX50 via RMS also works.
Via RMS (I love RMS) I went back to RUTX_R_00.07.06.3 and everything worked again. After another upgrade to RUTX_R_00.07.13.1 it did fail again.
Hello,
between RUTX_R_00.07.06 till RUTX_R_00.07.13 were implemented a lot of changes regarding access management plane, so some previous settings can collide with new configuration settings. This might be a reason why device itself crash if you try to upgrade to the newest available software and it cuts you remote access via GUI.
Check out if you have access to RUTX50 itself via underlying network like it is using IP address in Internet (e.g SSH not GUI).
Since Teltonika recently changed policy with redirecting HTTP into HTTPS some changes were also implemented, so maybe SSL keys or other settings are not negotiated anymore corretly while configuring fresh new device would act differently with uploaded newest RutOS version.
If by any chance you have some other RUTX50 device you may try to configure it from factory settings, checkout if something differs between your production config vs testing device.
Kind Regards,
Robert.
Dear Robert,
Thank you very much for your reply!
I have the RUTX50 in my office and have already reset it to the old version RUTX_R_00.07.06.
I also followed your advice and created the configuration on the latest RUTX50 OS version.
Documenting and adding all the settings was a hell of a job, but the somewhat brutal approach
worked. Many thanks for that.
Next I will put the RUTX50 back in place and do some final testing.
Many thanks for your help!
Harald
