Is there a way to change the default name “admin” from the root group ? If not; could this be considered as an extra security measure ?

There is no easy way to change the default “admin” username directly. The default user “admin” always belongs to the root group, and this cannot be altered in the standard user interface.

Instead of renaming the default “admin” user, you can create a new user with administrative privileges (though not in the root group) and use that for day-to-day management. However, this new user will not have the exact same permissions as the default “admin” user.

Not being able to change the default “admin” username could be seen as a security measure in the sense that it maintains consistency and predictability in device management.
For enhanced security, focus on setting a strong password for the “admin” account and consider creating additional users with limited access rights. This approach helps in managing access while maintaining the integrity of the default administrative account.
