My router constantly loses LTE connection, Quectel EG12-EA modem firmware version | USB_ID: 1-1 | Firmware: EG12EAPAR01A09M4G_01.001.01.001, when I try to update the modem via cli I get an error. Is there any way to force a firmware update?
How are you updating the modem via the CLI? Are you using DFOTA?
If the update is failing, there must be a reason for it, and forcing the update is guaranteed to make things worse and possibly brick the modem. Please share the output of the command you are running that is failing, as well as the exact instructions you’re using to update the modem.
Yes, I use Cli. Instructions were sent to me from your old forum in private messages, much worse if the modem does not work now? The router costs a lot of money, but it does not work stably.
Make sure you are running the latest RutOS firmware, which is currently 07.05.4 for RUTX devices. Older versions may have issues with the newer modem firmware releases. I’d highly advise to update without the option to Keep settings enabled.
Additionally, make sure you have a wired WAN connection plugged in. The commands for updating the modem will be the same.
Let me know how it goes.
My router does not see the modem after a leisurely update
Does it show “Modem unreachable” message when in the Overview screen?
Could you run the command
lsusb when on the newest firmware?
This behavior was not reported before, so I’m not sure where the issue could be. This will requier some further investigation.
Yes massage “Modem unreachable
Please post the output of
lsusb on the new firmware when possible.
