RUTX12 firmware downgrade?

Hello. I have a RUTX12 router that I just received after it was repaired after less than two years of use. Nothing worked except the power light. The thing is, they repaired it but changed the firmware version, so I can’t restore my backup with the configuration. I need to recover these settings for the RUTX_R_00.07.14.3 firmware that I had installed; now it has RUTX_R_00.07.16.3. Can I downgrade the firmware and restore my saved setup? How can I do this? Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon,

You can downgrade your firmware by going to device’s WEBUI System, Update firmware. Choose to update from file, and choose the firmware file to which you want to downgrade it to.

If you go to RUTX12 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Scroll down, and find the firmware

Download the file, upload it in the firmware update section in WEBUI, and the device will downgrade to your preffered version.

Thank you. It worked perfectly but now, after the firmware update I am receiving the message you can see in the picture. I have not changed anything in my initial setup. How can it be solved?

Hi there,

Do you use certificates for your use case? I would recommend following the error, and pressing on certificate actions, and create new certificates.

If you do not use this functionality, you can do the downgrade with a bootloader reset, to reflash the firmware in addition to just uploading it. Instructions :

Ultimately, you may have to just upgrade the device to the newest firmware, and set up the device again with the same configuration as in your backup. Take some screenshots, upgrade firmware, and configure it again, as we highly recommend using our devices with the newest firmware, due to needed security and performance upgrades.
