RUTX11 not connecting to GlobalProtect

Hello,

I am a domestic user, using the RUTX11 with cellular antenna for 4G home wifi. I can connect to the 4G network and get decent speeds for our location but there are a couple of issues that I can’t seem to fix (I am a bit of a novice with these things).

A) My PS5 will not connect to the internet no matter how I try on both the 2.4 and 5Ghz band.

B) My work laptop uses the PaloAlto GlobalProtect client to access our organisation storage, although I can connect to the internet it simply won’t connect to the GlobalProtect client.

Any advice?

Hi PN91,

Welcome to Teltonika Networks Community!

To proceed, I want to check a couple of things.

  1. Can you ping any DNS (8.8.8.8 OR 1.1.1.1) under Administration → Maintenance → Troubleshoot? This is for me to verify that Sim has internet connectivity.
  2. Connect a mobile phone to RUTX11 Wi-Fi and confirm that internet can be browsed.
  3. For your work laptop, if a different internet source is connected, will it connect to the GlobalProtect Client?

Let me know if this helps.

Regards,

Thanks for the reply @Janmiguel I have internet connectivity on my phone and on other devices I can confirm that. However when I ping 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 from any of the devices it comes back network unreachable.

Hi,

Kindly check firewall settings on your work laptop if any restrictions are present. For the first device, can you use your phone’s mobile hotspot and confirm if device is connecting? I would also suggest for you to update RUTX11 FW on latest version (7.08.2). Please refer to this link for FW upgrade guide.

Hi,

I can’t hotspot the router connection, only a separate mobile signal which my laptop and ps5 connect to.

I have also upgraded to the latest firmware.

@Janmiguel just to add to this on the”internet status” portion of the RUTOS it says ipv4 is offline, but ipv6 and DNS are active.

Hi,

Thank you for sharing this. I would suggest you to isolate RUTX11 completely by resetting the device to factory default (System → Maintenance → Back Up → Reset Type). Once booted up, insert the Sim card, and go to System → Maintenance → Troubleshoot. Make sure that DNS of google is pinging. Cross check if internet status will be up for IPV4 and DNS.

If none of this works, kindly use a different internet source for your laptop and check if it can connect to your VPN.

Regards,

Hi @Janmiguel l resolved the issue by turning off ipv6 which for some reason my laptop/ps5 couldn’t handle? On ipv4 only everything connects. Are there any ways to get my laptop and ps5 to play nice with ipv6?

Hi,

I have browsed through the net and there are other forums that are discussing ways to configure their PS5 with IPv6. You may refer to this link as a guide.
