I upgraded a remote RUTX11 to the latest firmware and lost connection to the device. After driving 350 km to the site I discovered that the device had gone to factory settings even if the upgrade had “Keep settings … on”.
I have no immediate problem now but have to stop upgrading FW remotely. I don’t want to drive 700 km because of your device FW upgrade!

This is a very uncommon firmware update behavior and is highly unlikely to happen under normal circumstances. Could you please confirm whether the firmware upgrade was performed via WebUI, RMS, or an SMS command?
Additionally, it’s always recommended to keep a configuration backup file saved to quickly recover the settings after unexpected situations like this.

It was upgraded using the WebUI. The config was easy to restore - once I reached the remote site.
Additional info: there was IPsec VPN configured and also dynamic DNS. Using mobile connection as WAN.
