RUTX08 firmware update delete (!) PKCS OpenVPN key

Hi,

we upgraded from 07.04.2 to 07.04.5 which deleted the OpenVPN PKCS key file (/etc/openvpn/askpass_NAMEVPN). As workaround we add the path in /etc/sysupgrade.conf but in my eyes this file must be safe during update!

VPN comes never up again if the PKCS file is protected…

Is the forum the right place for such an bug report?

Hello,

Thank you for this information.

I have forwarded this issue to the RnD team and will update you here once I get a response.

Hello,

The issue will be resolved in the newer firmware versions. This fix will likely not be included in v7.5 yet. Also, since the fix is not present on the current firmware, the file will be lost during the update. Therefore, to ensure that the file persists, it can be included in the /etc/sysupgrade.conf file as you have already mentioned. Alternatively, a backup can be downloaded before upgrading the firmware and uploaded after the device is upgraded.

Again, thank you for reporting this and apologies for the inconvinience.

Kind Regards,
