RUTM51 Latest firmware installed can't change admin password

Changing admin password in user settings. Get an unexpected error notification on apply and save. If I input incorrect current password it traps this correctly. Just won’t accept any new password provided.

Greetings,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

This is a known bug in RutOS 7.24.3 that may occur after upgrading with the “Keep settings” option enabled. It can prevent the administrator password from being changed through the WebUI and result in the “An unexpected error occurred” message.

As a workaround, please enable Password History under System → Administration → User Settings → Password Policy, save the changes, and then try changing the administrator password again. Once the password has been changed successfully, Password History can be disabled again if required.

Alternatively, the administrator password can be changed via CLI or RMS.

This issue has already been identified by our development team and is scheduled to be fixed.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Best regards,

T.
