Before we proceed, could you please clarify a few things:
Are you using Use login URL or Use authentication key as the authentication method?
If you are using an authentication key, could you please confirm that it has not expired? Also, do the authentication keys match between the device’s WebUI and the Tailscale website?
If you are using Use login URL, have you tried removing the device from the Tailscale website and then adding it again using the Tailscale login option in the device’s WebUI?
Your answers to these questions will help us better understand the situation and narrow down the possible cause.
Additionally could you please clarify if following this guide the issue still persits?
We appreciate your patience and look forward to your response.
The Tailscale security update was released after firmware version 07.25 was already released. At the moment, there is no supported method to manually update the Tailscale version on our devices. Updated Tailscale versions need to be tested beforehand to ensure compatibility and proper functionality with our devices.
Our R&D team is aware of this issue, and it is planned to be addressed in firmware version 07.26.
At the time of writing, we do not have an exact release date for this firmware version. However, we recommend keeping an eye on the Changelog section of the device’s firmware download page for further updates:
As for the notification: “You are logged out. The last login error was: fetch control key: Get “https://controlplane.tailscale.com/key?v=133”: x509: certificate signed by unknown authority”
Could please clarify if reinstalling the Tailscale package and reconfiguring the service on the device cause the issue to persist?
We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to let us know.
Installed the Tailscale package via the package manager and configured the settings, but it remains in a stopped state.
The authentication key has been entered, but Tailscale stays stopped.
It throws a certificate error, as I mentioned in the initial post.
The issue with the RUTM11 started after updating the firmware from 00.07.24 to 00.07.25.1.
I have tried reinstalling multiple times, but the problem persists.
Between reinstallations, I cleared Tailscale remnants via SSH, as removing it through the package manager leaves leftover files from the previous installation behind.
The RUTM10 update from 00.07.24 to 00.07.25.1 succeeded without any issues.
I managed to get Tailscale working via SSH using a 3rd-party certificate, but Tailscale still shows as stopped in the WebUI.
