RUTC50/RUTX50 How to create and send sms message to itself to change mobile utilities to connect modem to nr5g

> RUTC50/RUTX50. How to make the RUTC50/RUTX50 router create and send SMS daily at 06.30am to itself to change mobile utilities to connect modem to nr5g

**
Every night my service provider at around midnight switches off 5g leaving services lte 4g only to save money and power consumption that would otherwise be a waste of power in the small hours between midnight and 6 am. (I think this is common practise overnight by service providers)

This results in my mobile connection being set back from 5g to 4g and the next day it stays at 4g unless I manually change it back to 5g again.
I do this change back using SMS utilities text message [(password) cellular service=nr5g] from my handphone.
I know I could create a script and refer to it in crontab, but I would rather find out if I can create a SMS utilities rule in the RUTC50/RUTX50 that daily sends a SMS to it’s own SIM phone number to make use of the mobile utilities settings and change the mobile link to nr5g to automate the process using a Rule in SMS utilities.
Can this be done, if so How?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to achieve your desired automation using the SMS Utilities rule to send an SMS command to the RUTC50/RUTX50’s own SIM for switching back to 5G. The SMS utilities do not support this type of internal automation.

However, I would suggest an alternative method you may find useful. You can use the Auto Reboot Scheduler found under System → Maintenance → Auto Reboot. By enabling this feature and setting the reboot action for a specific time, the modem will automatically reboot, and after the reboot, it should reconnect to the 5G network if it is available at that time.

Please let me know if this approach works for you or if you require any further assistance.

Best regards,

This works for me twice a day. Morning to refresh my connection for my working day and again early evening so the family and i can enjoy a refreshed connection for catchup TV, Netflix etc etc

That looks nice and concise. I have added it.
I see it was unexpectedly tucked away that is why I missed it.
I was using a free phone app that did Auto SMS, but that depends on the phone being connected to the network.
Thanks
