RUTC50 and Poynting XPOL-1-5G. Cell 1 Main and Aux/Div Cell 2 Main and Aux/Div

Hi,

The XPOL-1-5G has two pairs of cables labelled Cell 1 Main and Aux/Div and Cell 2 Main and Aux/Div. The four inputs on the RUTC50’s are just labelled mobile. So, nothing suggests that one port differs from the other.

Does anyone know if the RUTC50’s inputs are different/correspond to the XPOL-1-5G?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If I recall correctly all 5G devices utilize all mobile antennas as main, so you’ll loose some performance by using only two of the connectors.
At least on RUTX50 the two outside connectors are mainly responsible for 4G, so use those if you have no other choice.

Hi, many thanks.

I have connect all four. I just wanted to make sure I was connecting the right cables to the right ports. I am using Three Mobile at the moment on 5G. Are the two outside ports for 4 & 5G and to be connected to Main? Thanks again.

It likely won’t make much difference, but yes, this is how I’d do it.

See below for a consolidation of various snippets over time …

Thanks.

This is really useful. It’s just disappointing that you have had to compile it. I feel this information should be available from Teltomika.

Hello @cloudassistant,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Could you please confirm whether your issue has been resolved or if you still require assistance?

Best regards,

Hi,

The question remains open. There has been a very helpful response but it is based on experience rather than fact. I’d hope that Teltonika could provide an answer based on their product.

Hello there,

I fully agree with @cloudassistant , I am also looking for some documentation about connecting a 4x4 antenna, and could not find yet the official documentation on “How to connect 4x4 MIMO antenna”. As in the antenna’s manual it states “Connect the cables to the corresponding ports” meaning MAIN1/Aux1/MAIN2/Aux2, while Teltonika just naming them “MOBILE”.

4x4 MIMO antenna’s are already on the market for some time now, so Teltonika…please be on top of these important “How To” notes, and make them available for everyone.

Thank you very much.

Hello @cloudassistant @Jeroen,

Apologies for the late reply.

I recommend checking your device’s internal modem hardware design manual for this information. The RUTC50 device uses the Quectel RG520N modem, and its manual can be found here: https://fcc.report/FCC-ID/XMR2022RG520NNA/6185642.pdf

For antenna specifications, please refer to Chapter 5. Based on the information provided, ANT0 and ANT4 should be connected to Main antennas, while ANT1 and ANT2 are for AUX antennas, as Mike mentioned.

Hope this helps!
