RUT956: PORT LINK STATE OF PORT LAN1 CHANGED TO UP/DOWN

Hello, I have checked the forum for similar questions, but no solutions were found for this problem. Has anyone discovered a solution?

The RUT956 has a 4G modem connection only, and both ports are switched as LAN interfaces. The modem sometimes disconnects from the mobile network every hour. At times, it stops working very often and only comes back after the electricity is turned off and on again.

The log shows that port states switch between UP and DOWN constantly.

We have a number of RUTX devices where we also get the same thing. Ports going up/down until the router hangs. We’ve found no issue upon inspecting the cables, so I’ve wondering if it could be the router.

Hello,
Welcome to Teltonika Networks Community !
There are a few points that you can check to better understand the root cause.

  1. Please check if you are updated to the latest FW as we have improvements for Mobile Connection present
  2. You can check the System Logs to confirm why it is getting disconnected, It can just be the ISP DHCP renewal.

3.Please check for the Mobile signal parameters and compare it with https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Mobile_Signal_Strength_Recommendations , especially the SINR value.
The LAN port link state is just the auto negotiation between the router and the connected LAN device and should not disrupt the mobile connectivity.
