RUT956 - Periodic Unexpected Shutdowns

Greetings,

We have a RUT956 router (RUT9M_R_00.07.08.2) installed on-site. The router runs a Lua script that reads from Modbus devices using the “ubus” command and transmits that data over HTTP using “curl”.

The router appears to go offline every 4~5 hours, and starts back up after 1~3 hours. The Event logs all display the same message. This has consistently occurred for ~3 months.

From what we can tell, this is not a network issue (no ping reboots, no network disconnections) or Lua script issue (unless ubus / curl is causing an issue).

Can anyone explain what “Device startup after unexpected shutdown” entails (e.g. power issue, CPU/RAM issue, etc). Any troubleshooting tips are also appreciated.

Troubleshooting logs obtained from the WebUI can be provided to Teltonika if required, which includes logs pre + post shutdown (saved in flash memory). The latest firmware is not being used as this changes how ubus works, affecting our script.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

In the downloaded troubleshoot file, you can check more detailed logs in the system.log file.

Please let me know if you find anything there that may have caused the unexpected shutdown. Also, let me know if you need any help analyzing the logs, and I will contact you privately.

Best regards,

Hello Marija,

We can’t seem to find anything interesting in system.log. Can you contact us in private so we can send through the logs / other details for further analysis?

Hello,
