RUT956 - MQTT message (hostname)

Hello,

We have acquired numerous “RUT956/RUT260” devices over the years, as security rules have become more restrictive.
The “MQTTS” protocol is required by the IT department, but the “MQTT message: remote address” field does not allow a DNS name to be entered.
What is the procedure for enabling an “MQTT bridge” with a DNS address?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Cidrick

Greetings,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please clarify the following:

  • Firmware version of the device(s)
  • Whether any error messages appear when you attempt to configure it
  • If possible, screenshots of your current configuration

This information will help me investigate the issue further.

I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
V.

Good afternoon Vilius,

Actually, the firmware router is “RUT9M_R_00.07.20.3”.

For Bridge :

No error if I write an “IP address” ou “DNS name” on “Remote address*”

  • Remote address* : / port : 8883 / Encryption (TLS) = Connexion NOK
  • I don’t use “Bridge CA file”

I check the connectivity with an tool like “MQTT Explorer”.

  • Host : / port : 8883 / Encryption (TLS) [no certificats] = Connexion OK

I need a safety connexion by “MQTT” like “MQTTS” between the route “RUT/Bridge” and a “MQTT Broker” server directly.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards.
