I have a RUT956 that was purchased a month or so ago. It was setup and working with a o2 SIM. I carried out the latest firmware upgrade yesterday and since then I keep getting Mobile ESM reject cause unknown. I have tried rolling back the firmware version to RUT9M_R_00.07.11.3_WEBUI.bin but this makes no difference. I have tried entering the APN manually, again this makes no difference and also swapping the SIM to slot 2. Does anyone know what’s happened and how I can resolve the issue? Thanks.
Hello,
If I understand correctly, you have updated the device from firmware version 7.11.3 to 7.13.1, correct?
- Was the “Keep Settings” option selected during the update?
- Are you using the same SIM card after the update?
- Have you tried using this SIM card in different devices?
- Are you in the same location after updating the firmware, or have you moved?
- Could you also please let me know the internal modem firmware version on your device? You can find this in System → Firmware → Update firmware.
Best regards,
Thank you for the reply, please see below:
Not sure what the original firmware was, but it was updated to 7.13.1 and has subsequently been down graded to firmware version 7.11.3
- Yes, although since then I’ve carried out a reset to factory defaults
- The SIM card has been changed recently, although the new SIM card was working
- I’ve tried a known working SIM card in the RUT956 and this does the same
- The RUT956 was setup and working at location 1, it was transferred to location 2 and was working and the firmware upgrade was carried out at this location. I assume the mobile connection was still working at this location, but can’t be 100% sure. The RUT956 was then moved back to location 1 and it was at this location that the problem was discovered. The RUT956 will remain at this location until working again and will then move to location 3.
- Modem firmware is: EC25EUXGAR08A15M1G_20.200.20.200
Thanks
It’s now working again!! Although a signal was showing for SIM1, I swapped antennas and now it’s working. I can only assume that the original antenna is faulty??
Hello,
Good to hear that the issue is resolved!
There is a possibility that the antenna could be damaged.
