RUT955 WiFi repeater/bridge possibility?

Hi, I need to set up this router in my RV as a WiFi repeater option or bridge from external wifi networks to the internal own RUT955 WiFi network - NOT to a wired LAN, as stated for example here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTOS_relay\_/\_Wi-Fi_extender\_/\_repeater\_/\_bridge_configuration
or in an insufficient or misunderstood answer to this problem here:

In short, so that in addition to the “hotspot” mode from the external 4G mobile network, I can also receive and use inside the car an available remote outdoor e.g. free wifi network from an external antenna on the roof of the car, which has a weak signal inside the car itself. Is this possible without the need to use another AP device with a wifi radio connected to the LAN output of the RUT955?? Of course, with some necessity of selecting the “4G/external wifi” switch in the administration.

Hello,

If your goal is to Layer 2 bridge your RUT955 LAN with an external wireless network (such as a free outdoor AP), you should use the wireless Relay(d) feature. More detailed guidance on setting up Relay(d) can be found here:

If you instead want to extend or mesh your internal wireless network with an existing free Wi-Fi AP, a wireless mesh setup would be the right solution. Further information and configuration steps are available here:

Finally, if your requirement is simply to have an additional wireless WAN source (hotspot / free WiFi) alongside your primary 4G/LTE mobile WAN connection, you can configure the router to connect wirelessly (on 2.4 GHz) to the available AP and continue using the router’s own SSID for your internal devices. Instructions for connecting your router to a wireless AP are available here:

If this does not fully match your inquiry, please clarify your intended setup and provide additional details to assist you more precisely.

Best regards,
