RUT955, firmware RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5
Kernel 3.18.44
Bootloader version 3.0.1
Webpage shows “No new firmware available” from server, so I upload firmware from file.
I tested several new firmwares starting from RUT9_R_00.07.00:
I can’t upload via bootloader due to checksum error
if I update firmware from webpage, at login page with new firmware I enter username and password, and then hangs, with all network signal leds blinking.
It appears that you are currently using a legacy firmware version, which prevents you from directly updating to the newer RutOS versions. To resolve this, you first need to download and upload the latest legacy firmware (RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5_WEBUI.bin) either via the Bootloader or the WebUI. Once this firmware is successfully upgraded, you should then be able to download and update to the latest RutOS firmware version.
I am more confused now: you say I can’t upgrade to newer firmware due I am using legacy firmware “which prevents you from directly updating to the newer RutOS versions” and you suggest to download RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5_WEBUI.bin, which is another legacy firmware and it’s the firmware I already have installed?
Then you say I can download and update to the latest firmware version (I suppose RUT9_R_00.07.06.16_WEBUI.bin), in this case RUT955 directly crashes at boot without sowing me login page.
I apologize for the confusion in my previous messages, and I appreciate your detailed description of the issue. To address your specific situation effectively, we’ll need to communicate privately.
