Rut955 has connection problems with a POE switch

Hi,

I have a RUT955003XXX with the firmware RUT9_R_00.07.04.4 and want to connect it to a industrial POE Switch.
But the Router isn’t able to negoiate a stable connection.

In the best case it is connected with 10baseT (after a long time of negotiation).
In the worst case the link stays down.

root@system3:~# swconfig dev switch0 show | grep link:
link: port:0 link:up speed:1000baseT full-duplex txflow rxflow
link: port:1 link:down
link: port:2 link:up speed:10baseT full-duplex auto
link: port:3 link:down
link: port:4 link:down

I also tried to turn of the autonegotiation but it is the same effect:
ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off

Hi,

It seems like you’re using an outdated firmware. Could you please update to the latest or a newer version and see if the negotiation issues persist?

Best regards,

Hi,

thank you for your fast reply.
I updated the firmware, but the negotiation tooks still very long and gets a bad result with 10baseT

Best regards

Can you reset your RUT955 to factory defaults?
Let’s see how it goes afterwards…

Hi,
I relpaced the PoE Switch with another one.
So the Teltonika router is no longer connected to a PoE port.
The first switch has on every port PoE

Hello,

The RUT955 can be powered via passive PoE through the first LAN port. So if you’ve connected a PoE switch to that port, it might have interfered with the negotiation. Have you tried using other ports to connect the PoE switch?

Kind regards,

Hello,

yes I tried different ports.
The switch had an active PoE.
So with the new switch it works fine.
Thanks.

Best regards
