RUT950 stopped responding

After happily working for 5 months, one of the RUT950 routers stopped working.
Symptoms:

  • dhcp server doesn’t respond c.q. doesn’t hand out a new ip number
  • after restart (April 17, 2025), the RUT950 seems to work fine again
  • logging stopped logging at Feb 20, 2025 after reboot at 4am (which suggests the RUT950 OS crashed that day)
  • same happened one year ago with this same device
    Conditions
  • mobile data 4G connection providing internet access to the internal network
  • daily reboot at 4am
  • firmware: 07.06.6
  • the RUT950 resides at a remote location with no person available at the site to manually reboot

Any suggestions on how to find the reason for this problem and prevent it from happening again next year?
