I have a RUT950, 3 LAN ports (eth0 and dots I presume), mobile (WLAN) and a WAN port (eth1 I presume). The WAN port light remains solid green even with nothing plugged into it.
I have reset the router with the pushswitch in the back, I have also tried downloading firmware and removing the “keep settings” tab.
I cannot get WAN to work with anything, I cannot get it to get a DHCP address.
Mobile works fine.
If I do a Topology, the Scan WAN is disabled, and it says No Active Interfaces
If I SSH into the RUT950 as root and do ifconfig, I do get eth1 up and running
I have achieved to get the WAN port working as static IP, and putting my router as the gateway. But I cannot get it to assign itself an IP over DHCP. Had the same problem connecting my starling directly to it, as I do now with my cablemodem or the router that connects to the cablemodem. Everything is on different networks as to avoid conflicts.
Cable modem is 192.168.1.1
Router is on 10.0.0.1
RUT950 is on 192.168.0.1
What could be interefering with DHCP on the WAN port?
It appears to be a hardware issue with the device. The green light should only be on when the cable is connected, not continuously. I recommend contacting your reseller to arrange for device repair.
