RUT950 no IP adress via DHCP

I have a RUT950 (old version) with firmware 00.06.09.5.
DHCP is no longer assigning IP addresses. They have to be assigned manually. Resetting or downgrading the firmware didn’t help.

The LAN1 light is also lit even though no cable is connected.

I would appreciate any help.

Manuel

Good afternoon,

Are you able to install the newest firmware to the device? Via WEBUI, or if you cannot, via bootloader method? Instructions : RUT950 Device Recovery Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Firmware : RUT950 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki

This method will also perform firmware update and reflash the device, which can potentially resolve the issue in itself.

Please try a different Lan port, a different Lan cable also.

Hello Arturas,

thank you for the info.

I already have the latest firmware.

I’ve also tried other LAN ports. DHCP doesn’t assign addresses either.

There is also no DHCP available over WLAN.

Downgrading didn’t help either. Same result.

Unfortunately, the RUT950 is an older model.

The latest possible firmware is 00.06.09.5

I just tried the reset button again.

Still no address assigned via DHCP.

I have a question: shouldn’t the event log be completely empty after a factory reset?

Hi there,

That is correct, the event log should be empty. This indicates that the bootloader reset has not been sucessfully completed. I would recommend repeating the procedure to see if it yields different results. Note, that if you are unable to complete a reset, this indicates flash memory issues, which can only be fixed by going through the warranty procedure and sending the item in for a repair. Your distributor can assist if the device is still within warranty.

Double-check DHCP server is enabled and configured correctly in the WebUI.
Try connecting a device with a static IP in the router’s subnet to verify network connectivity.
Test other LAN ports and WLAN clients for DHCP assignment.
Observe if the LAN1 LED behavior is consistent and abnormal
