RUT950 - Insert TimeStamp (or similar) in SMS Message

Hi Everyone,

I’m using a RUT950 with firmware updated.
I’m trying to find if it is possibile to add in the Text form of an SMS Message, in any way (system tags, data configurator) informations about current Time (local time, time stamp, any suggestions accepted).

Thank you in advance for the help

Good afternoon,

If you are inquiring, about receiving text message alerts, you can configure them in such a way, where you would receive a time stamp, along with other configurations (See screenshot attached)

In addition you can read more about the functionality in this link : https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTX11_Events_Reporting

If this does not resolve your issue, please advise more on your use case, your topology, what information you are sending.

Regards,
Arturas

Good morning Arturas,

thanks for your reply, it works but doesn’t solve my situation because unfortunately is a little bit more specific, let me explain.

I saw that Events (and others technical sections that can send SMS) could use system tags like “%ts” (which "value"of the time is exactly what I need)

Unfortunately I need to use the “Alarms Configurator” in MODbus TCP Client section (only way I found to send SMS on a MODbus TCP Client Read Poll Request).
The problem is that the SMS Text Message box (in this section) doesn’t allow system tags like “%ts” or whatever time-value (using or not characters like “” , - and so on).

It is maybe some technical notation I can use to get time value in this situation?
I tried almost everything.

Thanks in advance,
Regards

Good afternoon,

I have passed your query to our RND department. I will send their response as soon as I receive it.

Arturas

Hi Arturas,

thank you very much for the support.

I’ll wait for the RND department’s reply,

Good afternoon,

Sorry for the late response.

As modbus alarms don’t support adding text parameters in the SMS message field, I wanted to recommend to use a custom script that would read modbus register data via a ubus call or API and, depending on the condition, would send an SMS containing a date "+%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S" variable.

Arturas
