RUT901 port forward behavior

Hello,

I’m using a Teltonika RUT901 router (RUT9M_R_00.07.16.3 firmware), and a Nextcloud AIO setup that I’m trying to reach from outside. The Nextcloud AIO requires port 8443 and 80 for communication, and I’ve added port forwarding in the RUT901 firewall for both.

Initially I got an RFC1918 error:

After a bit of googling I found a recommendation to disable the “Ignore private IPs on public interface” under System/Administration/Access control - Edit advanced settings, to avoid RFC1918.

The result is only that I’m forwarded to the log in page of the router’s web interface, not to the nextcloud server. I’m guessing that the routers UI is using the ports, and that’s the reason for this behavior? Any suggestions to avoid it, and how to allow communication with the nextcloud server instead?

Thankful for any advice!

Good afternoon,

The Teltonika router uses port 80 and 443 by default for its own UI, so forwarding external port 80 or 443 to your Nextcloud internal IP on the same ports will not work directly.

If you go to WEBUI System → Administration → Access control, you can change the active HTTP port for local access.

Depending on your end device interface, you may be be able to change the ports there as well.
