Rut241 will not connect to Nest cam

Hi,

The equipment is a Rut241 with firmware 7,17,3 and a Nest cam NC2100FD

The router itself works fine I think. I can connect and surf the internet with a tablet or phone. Connecting the Nest cam gives issues.

What I tried already:

  • Wifi password with only numbers
  • encryption wpa2-psk, wpa2-eap, wpa-psk,wpa-eap, open
  • try different channels
  • put “802.11r fast transition” on and off
  • try DMZ on
  • change DHCP to lower range 100-249 in stead of 200-249
  • Download older firmware
  • install package “upnp” and enable it

But not able to connect to cam. When try, Nest comes back with “C106" wifi router is niet connected to internet”, but the router is connected.

Talked to support desk today and try a few things but finally the advice is to open a new topic on the forum.

Hope someone can help. Thank anyway.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Firstly, to clarify: is the correct default gateway set on the Nest cam? How are you accessing its settings?

Additionally, could you provide any screenshots of the made configuration or any relevant information that might be useful and help us understand the situation better? Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Martynas,

Thanks for your reply!

The connection to the cam is made through the Nest-app. After scanning the QR code, it makes connection via bluetooth and starts the process tot connect to wifi.

The wifi connection itself works with an iPad if phone. But the Nest-app says C106, number connection possible.

Herewith some screenshots of the configuration.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing the screenshots. Could you please check and confirm the following points:

  1. As it looks like you currently only have IPv6 connectivity, can you confirm whether your operator plan provides an IPv4 address? For testing, please try setting the PDP type to IPv4 only via Network → WAN → mob1s1a1 settings tab.
  2. On your Dixbay AP, please try changing the wireless encryption method to WPA2-PSK instead of mixed WPA2/WPA3, and check if the camera connection improves.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Hi Martynas,

IT WORKS!!!

When set the first option the cam directly connected! Good work!

Does this mean I have to leave this setting to “IPv4” only? Or is it possible to set it back later.

Many thanks!

Hello @Idrisvandermeer,

Thank you for the update – perfect news.

If the PDP type was previously set to IPv4/IPv6 (dual mode), then yes, you would need to leave it as IPv4 only, unless you check with your ISP on why only an IPv6 address is being assigned or try selecting a different manual APN.

Best regards,
