Over the past week I have updated FW to RUT2M_R_00.07.08 on a number of RUT241’s. A total of eight, all of which have a SLM750-V(E) modem on board, have been diconnecting / connecting from mobile data randomly since.
In a single case, the logs show “sim card changed to not inserted”. In two cases, there is no mobile signal strength indicated on RMS.
Most RUT’s restore connection to RMS, but some need to be forced connected back to RMS by sms utilities.
None of these routers showed similar issues before the update. It sure looks like there is an issue in the latest FW version, causing trouble with this type of modem.
Event logs and troubleshoot files are available for all these impacted devices for Teltonika analysis.
@Marija given the number of devices impacted, could you please escalate?
We have released a recent firmware 7.08.2 that might fix what you are currently facing. Kindly continue to monitor mobile connectivity and let us know if something comes up.
thanks for your response. I will send a field service engineer over to one of the impacted sites to upgrade the router to this FW version. I will post an update after.
By the way: the impact of this issue seems to be rapidly expanding. We have been contacted by the mobile network operator with a complaint that one of the devices is saturating the network because of the frequent dis/reconnects. They are not taking this lightly. To be continued.

@Janmiguel the FW upgrade to 07.08.2 seems to make no difference.
The impact / severity of the dis-/reconnect issues differ from device to device.
One device is dis-/reconnecting on average every three minutes. The device was set to fixed 4G and mobile signal strength was at -75dBm which should suffice. We have set it back to auto to rule out any mobile signal issues under the surface. First thing that strikes me is that this device goes back to 2G at -97dBm while 3G and 4G signals are available at higher signal strenght. Doesn’t make sense.
Some devices are dis-/reconnecting every 6 hours. Makes me think they are renewing their lease on this rate, but I have no idea why. I can’t find any settings that might trigger this.
