Internet Connectivity: Do both the VPN server and client have active internet connections?
Public IP Address: Is the VPN server using a public IP address that is accessible from the client side?
Firewall Configuration: Have you ensured that port 1195 is allowed through the firewalls on both the client and server sides?
Additionally, could you confirm if this OpenVPN issue is occurring on the latest firmware version (RUT2M_R_00.07.09.1_WEBUI.bin)?
At this stage, it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue. I would like to investigate further with a troubleshooting file. I have sent you a HubSpot form to fill out so I can contact you privately. Once connected, I’ll send you an email so you can respond and provide the troubleshooting file, which can be downloaded from System → Maintenance → Troubleshoot in your device’s web interface.
Let me know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.
1: Mobile connection is online.
2: At least 20Units are logged into the VPN Server.
3: Seems to be firewall problem. i can not ping 8.8.8.8 or telnet to port 1195.
We did a factory reset and only configured openvpn, ping and openvpn is working.
Now we are doing a new backup and try to configure the next rut241.
If you wish to investigate the problem further, let me know.
My college setup one unit with firmware Version RUT2M_R_00.07.06.10 and took a backup.
I did setup another unit with the backup file, after factory reset with same firmware.
The result is the same, no ping to 8.8.8.8 possible.
