Hi
we have a RUT241 (RUT2M_R_00.07.09.4) with a working WAN connection and a connected, but not working mobile connection. We have prioritized the mobile connection, but still only the wired connection is working. If we pull the wired connection physically out, there is no connection at all. What are we doing wrongly? Where should we look. Thanks for any help, we have been wasting hours…
Cheers, LVM
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out.
I’ve tested the scenario you described on the RUT241 with the same firmware version and didn’t encounter any issues. Here are a few things you can check that might be helpful:
- In the WebUI, switch to Advanced mode and navigate to Network → Failover. Ensure failover is enabled on both wan and mob1s1a1 interfaces. Try setting wan as the primary and mobile as the secondary WAN source. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, disable failover and reboot the device.
- Manually select an APN and ensure both mobile antennas are properly connected to the router, as the signal strength seems weak at the moment.
- If the above steps don’t help, try performing a factory reset. You can find instructions here: Factory reset for RUT241.
As for eth0.2 being used on the wired WAN interface, there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s the default physical interface for WAN, just like eth0.1 is for LAN.
I hope this helps! If you need further assistance or have more questions, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
