RUT240 Won't Boot Up

Hello,
I have an RUT240 which wont boot.
It fires up, flashes all 5 wifi lights for a while, pauses, no lights and then the 2/3/4g lights pulse in sequence endlessly.
The wireless lan never boots, the local Lan is not operating, I tried factory resetting it , nothing works.
How do I get it to boot? I could put latest firmware on it if I could get access to it somehow.

Additional steps: Tried entering bootloader menu, the lights all go off when reset released, no ability to connect. Power cycle returns to previous behavior

Hello,

If the RUT240 is blinking from the 2G LED to the 4G LED repeatedly, it means the device is attempting to connect to a mobile network operator. More information about the LED indicators can be found here: Teltonika RUT240 LED Guide.

When you insert an Ethernet cable to RUT240, do the LEDs on the Ethernet port react in any way? Do they light up? If so, what color?

Best regards.

solid green
no sim installed

When you connect the Ethernet cable from the RUT to your PC, could you please execute the ipconfig command and check the default gateway to determine the router’s IP address? It is most likely 192.168.1.1.

If you cannot access this IP via the web interface, please try setting a static IP on your PC as described here: Setting up a Static IP Address on a Windows 10 PC.

Additionally, could you please confirm whether you can access the router via SSH?

Best regards,

I set my eth port to manual, and chose 192.168.1.39 and 255.255.255.0.
I can ping 192.168.1.1
Ipconfig shows 192.168.1.1 as gateway
Dont have ssh set up

Going afk for few hours, will check back tomorrow

Hello,

If you can see the router’s IP as the gateway and can successfully ping it, then the device is definitely booted up. Please try opening a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or another) and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. You should see the router’s WebUI login page.

Additionally, I recommend checking this wiki page for more guidance: Quick Start Guide - RUT240.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Hello
It took 12 attempts to finally get it to bootloader mode.
Then i tried firmware upload, and had the same trouble as lots of others with “checksum error”.
Finally downgraded to an old version, got it to boot up abd run, went to update and did a fota update which brought it up to current.

What a rigmarole!

Ive been managing networks and using Teltonika for several years, btw.

Hello,

Apologies for the late reply.

Could you please confirm if you have tried uploading the latest legacy firmware via the bootloader menu (not RutOS)? It can be downloaded here: RUT240 Firmware Downloads (Legacy WebUI).

Please try this and let me know how it goes!

Best regards,
