My RUT240 has a problem where it does not share SSID. It works after restart for some time (sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes for days) but at one point it disconnects all devices and cannot be found anymore by clients.
In webUI it shows that the network is UP, yet the signal strength is 0.
Here are a few suggestions and checks to help troubleshoot the issue with your RUT240 not broadcasting the SSID consistently:
WiFi Antenna Connection – Ensure that the WiFi antenna is properly attached and securely screwed onto the device.
Transmit Power Settings – Verify that the 2.4 GHz radio transmit power is set to 100%. You can check this in Network → Wireless → Radio settings.
Wireless Interference – Check if the environment is overcrowded with other WiFi access points, as this could cause interference and affect performance.
Channel Analysis – Perform a Channel Analysis via Status → Wireless → Channel Analysis to scan the surrounding networks. Select a less crowded WiFi channel in the Radio settings to reduce interference.
Signal Strength Display – If the signal strength is showing 0, it means that no active clients are currently connected to your WiFi AP. Signal strength can only be measured when at least one device is connected.
If none of the suggestions help improve the issue, if feasible, you could try performing a factory reset on your RUT240.
I did all the 6 steps (incl factory reset), but the problem remains - approximately 15 min after the reset the all the devixes are disconnected and devices can not find SSID.
