RUT240 all leds are constantly on when power on the router

Hi there! I faced an issue when I power on RUT240 it doesn’t start properly. All lights are on and nothing happen. The only way that helps here is to unplug-plugin power and do it several times. After some time router starts and works well. The number of such power-off/power-on has grown. Now I should do it much more than before to start the router.
This issue happen all the time when (for instance) a short power outage might happen and router will be restarted, but it won’t. It will be in this strange “mode” - all LEDs are on and nothing happen.
Please assist. Thank you.
p.s. I’ve checked for firmware and it looks a bit outdated: RUT2XX_R_00.01.11.3 I can try to update it, but would like to know first your opinion.

Hi…

I have RUT240… using the last firmware…
07.06.16: https://firmware.teltonika-networks.com/7.6.16/RUT2/RUT2_R_00.07.06.16_WEBUI.bin

Your firmware are very old… maybe you typed a wrong number?
I believe… You need to go step by step. Getting majors firmwares to update your device. Cannot go direct to the last firmware.

Another issue, about this strange start of your device, can be the flash (where everything is stored) is damaged.

Hello,

Regarding the issue you are experiencing, I recommend trying the following recovery options:

  1. Factory Reset: This will restore the device to its default factory settings and delete all custom configurations. Instructions are available here: Factory Reset.
  2. Bootloader Menu: This is a recovery tool used if the router becomes inaccessible even after a factory reset. Instructions can be found here: Bootloader Menu.

Regarding your firmware, it appears to be an older Legacy version. It is always recommended to keep your firmware up to date.

To update:

  • First, upgrade your device from 01.11.3 Legacy firmware to the latest available 1.14.7 Legacy firmware. You can download it here: Legacy Firmware Downloads.
  • After updating to the latest Legacy firmware, you can attempt to upgrade to the latest RutOS 7.6.16 firmware. Please note that older hardware versions of the RUT240 may not support RutOS. The latest firmware can be downloaded here: RutOS Firmware Downloads.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or if you encounter any issues during the process.

Best regards,

Yes, but it is, as I wrote. And a firmware available on server is RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.7.
That’s the question if flash to a new firmware helps then ok. But what if not…

Hello,

The issue may be related to the firmware you are using. We recommend starting by upgrading your device to see if the problem is resolved. First, update your device to the latest available Legacy firmware on the server. After that, update it to the latest RutOS firmware version, 7.06.16.

If this does not resolve the issue, please try the recovery options mentioned earlier. If the issue persist, we advise contacting your reseller and sending the device for RMA, if device warranty is still valid.

Best regards,

Hi,
Thank you for the info. I cannot try to update firmware right now, because it’s only router I use for a connection and I’m afraid to brick it. I will return to this question when I have a spare connection.
Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the information. I will be waiting for your feedback.
