In the past I had received notifications (red dot on bell icon) that a firmware update were available. I also note the precautionary staging (stable/latest) exercise.
However, I have been on Firmware RUT2M_R_00.07.17.5 for some time. I now see (via Jan PFU) that versions 7.20 & 7.20.1 have been released.
Am I just too impatient? Or have the notifications stopped working?
If you’re interested in 7.20.1 then you’ll need to select ‘Latest Firmware’. I would just manually upgrade to 7.20.1 from file, check your fota settings and see if that fixes things, going forward.
No. It is not a spicific interest in any particular version. I was just worried that I was not getting notified about the latest Stable version. My router has 07.17.5 which it says is the latest stable. But the web site says that is is 07.19.4. Should my router interface tell me to upgrade?
It should notify you, hence why I suggested a firmware update ….. maybe there was a fix applied to a later version than your current one. To test, then if it were me, I’d change the fota settings to ‘Latest firmware’, save, and then manually update the firmware to 07.19.4 (stable version) with ‘keep settings on’.
Once the manual upgrade has finished, see if you get a notification that tells you the latest 07.21.1 is available. I’m don’t know how often RutOS checks for updates.
